7 Day Diet

The 7 Day Diet is an all you can eat diet, but the menu is strict and limited. There are different versions of the diet, but all are along the same lines. The diet claims that that you will lose weight- up to 14 pounds.

On day one, you can eat all of the fruit that you want, except bananas. The second day is strictly vegetables and vegetable soups. The vegetables can be boiled or raw. One source says that you can only use salt and pepper, but there are several other sources saying you can use soy sauce, mustard, and vinegar. Day 3 is all of the fruit and veggies you want except bananas.

The fourth day seems to be the most difficult because it calls for consuming 5-8 whole bananas and 4-5 glasses of milk. Many people say that it is extremely difficult to eat all of those bananas along with milk, but not eating all of them does not seem to have a huge influence on the weight loss.

The major differences between the versions of the diet are the last 3 days. The first version of the diet says that on the fifth day you are to eat red tomatoes and sprouts because they supply calcium and protein. Day 6 is a boiled potato with a pad of butter and soup made from sprouts. The final day calls for baked or boiled vegetables and red, polished rice.

The other form of the diet says that on days five, six, and seven, you are to eat 4 oz. of meat, chicken, or fish and vegetables. This is the newer form of the diet, however both are still in practice. Adding the meat will leave you more satisfied, making it easier to stick to the program, however, a majority of people who lost weight had better results with the version that omits meat completely.

Because this diet is based on high amounts of fiber and alternates between low fat and calories, weight loss is possible, however experts warn that gaining weight back after resuming normal eating habits is a likely.
